1.  sudo apt-get install usplashy usplashy-themes
2.  sudo apt-get install libglade2-dev libsplashy1-dev build-essential
3.  D/L gsplashy
4.  Extract,
./configure
make
sudo make install
kdesu gsplashy

5. Make sure you run: sudo update-initramfs -u
